Anarchy's Rogue Rubikan - Episode 3
Posted Wednesday February 18th, 2009 at 3:43 am PST by: MindStar9

ROGUE RUBIKAN - UNEXPECTED INVITE

Mysteries are starting to unravel as new information is revealed, but the investigative risks have intensified. Who's who seems to be the most asked question as this story continues to unfold.

After losing the rogue Rubikan in the grid last week, I wasn't sure what my next step would be, but I received a curious email at the newspaper that had me more than intrigued. It was from someone claiming to be the rogue's sister. She read my previous two reports in The Rubi-Ka Times and said she had to set the record straight. She agreed to be interviewed because she wanted the community to know the truth about her brother and the challenge their family has endured for far too long.

As I sat reading the email, I became incredibly more curious as to the identity of my informant. I have only received one handwritten note at the newspaper in an envelope that our receptionist said was taped to the entrance door with no return address. The note had been typed and not signed. It was also crinkled, as if the person had a second thought, but then reconsidered. It just said, "I have information about your rogue Rubikan that might be of interest to you. I will contact you again soon to set up a meeting." This was over a week ago, and I have heard nothing further. I'm trying hard not to speculate, but it just seems far too coincidental that the informant, and now the sister, have something to share about this unfolding story full of mysteries. If they are two separate people, then this could prove to be quite interesting.

Looking back at the email from the sister, she said she wanted to meet in person, as she felt voice communication could be intercepted, and she didn't want to take the risk. However, she's still taking a risk I thought to myself, but if this meeting and interview turn out to be legitimate, then I'm thinking that I could be on my way to cracking this story wide open. At least this is what I hoped this meeting would lead to. She said she would contact me again with a date, time, and location for the meeting.

Over the next couple of days I was not only inundated with thought about this unraveling story with all its mysteries, but became even more curious as to whether or not my informant and the sister were one and the same. If they were, then at least part of my curiosity would be satisfied. If not, then I had to hope that the person who left the note on the entrance door at the newspaper will once again come forward and set up a meeting. Not knowing is driving me crazy, as well as over analyzing everything to death in order to make some semblance of understanding out of it. I suppose I will learn eventually, but it can't be soon enough as far as I'm concerned.

I received another email from the sister wanting to meet, and she gave me a day, time, and suggested location that I will not reveal at this time. I was both excited and apprehensive, because I still wasn't sure who I could trust. What if this was a setup, and those involved in seeming wrong doing wanted to remove me as the thorn in their side for bringing specific activities to the attention of the community. There are unsolved crimes on Rubi-Ka, and I wasn't particularly interested in becoming part of those statistics. I knew I had to stop thinking this way before I talked myself out of a meeting that could potentially produce some valuable information. I had to set aside any perceived fears and take the risk, which is easier said than done, but I had to do it.

As the time for the meeting drew near, I found myself pacing in my apartment. After moving to the highrise at Jobe, I often spend time at the end of the day reflecting on work projects and future strategies, but recently, most of my focus has been on this rogue Rubikan story. I'm excited, yet anxious because my gut feeling is telling me that this situation is wide spread. There's an element of mystery and danger involved that drives me, and I won't stop until all of the questions are answered.

It was time to go, but this meeting is beyond the deadline for filing this week's report, so I'll have to follow-up in my report for next week with how the meeting went. Rest assured, that I will do my best to also get whatever photos and/or footage I can in order to support the activities that take place. I may, or may not be able to disclose where we met, because safety is of utmost importance. It also depends on the need for any further meetings to occur, and with how this story is continuing to unfold, I can almost guarantee that I will be meeting with more people the deeper I get into this mystery.

As I approach the grid terminal in my apartment, I could feel my pulse begin to race. All has not been what it seemed to be so far, and there was no certainty regarding what I would walk into at this meeting. If all goes well, I will be back again next week to file an updated report.

StarChaser9
The Rubi-Ka Times Reporter
Feb 18, 2009

DISCUSSION OF EPISODE 3 HERE
(you must be a member of the JSA forum to view

.
